9% of Christians have Biblical worldview
Church doesn't think like Jesus
Survey shows only 9% of Christians have biblical worldview
© 2003 WorldNetDaily.com
A new survey by pollster George Barna finds only 9 percent of born-again Christians hold a biblical worldview.
Barna, who surveyed 2,033 adults in his study, found only 4 percent of the general population have a biblical worldview and suggests many of the nation's moral and spiritual challenges are directly attributable to this fact.
"If Jesus Christ came to this planet as a model of how we ought to live, then our goal should be to act like Jesus," said Barna. "Sadly, few people consistently demonstrate the love, obedience and priorities of Jesus. The primary reason that people do not act like Jesus is because they do not think like Jesus. Behavior stems from what we think – our attitudes, beliefs, values and opinions. Although most people own a Bible and know some of its content, our research found that most Americans have little idea how to integrate core biblical principles to form a unified and meaningful response to the challenges and opportunities of life. We're often more concerned with survival amidst chaos than with experiencing truth and significance."
For the purposes of the research, a biblical worldview was defined as believing that absolute moral truths exist; that such truth is defined by the Bible; and firm belief in six specific religious views. Those views were that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life; God is the all-powerful and all-knowing Creator of the universe and He still rules it today; salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned; Satan is real; a Christian has a responsibility to share their faith in Christ with other people; and the Bible is accurate in all of its teachings.
Only 7 percent of Protestants overall maintained a biblical worldview, according to the study. Of adults who attend mainline Protestant churches, only 2 percent shared those values. Among Catholics, less than one-half of 1 percent had a biblical worldview. The denominations that produced the highest proportions of adults with a biblical worldview were non-denominational Protestant churches, with 13 percent, Pentecostal churches, with 10 percent, and Baptist churches with 8 percent.
Among the most prevalent alternative worldviews was postmodernism, which seemed to be the dominant perspective among the two youngest generations.
One of the most striking insights from the research was the influence of such a way of thinking upon people's behavior. Adults with a biblical worldview possessed radically different views on morality, held divergent religious beliefs and demonstrated vastly different lifestyle choices.
People's views on morally acceptable behavior are deeply impacted by their worldview.
Upon comparing the perspectives of those who have a biblical worldview with those who do not, the former group were 31 times less likely to accept cohabitation; 18 times less likely to endorse drunkenness; 15 times less likely to condone homosexual sex; 12 times less likely to accept profanity; and 11 times less likely to describe adultery as morally acceptable.
In addition, less than one-half of one percent of those with a biblical worldview said voluntary exposure to pornography was morally acceptable (compared to 39 percent of other adults), and a similarly miniscule proportion endorsed abortion (compared to 46 percent of adults who lack a biblical worldview).
Among the more intriguing lifestyle differences were the lesser propensity for those with a biblical worldview to gamble (they were eight times less likely to buy lottery tickets and 17 times less likely to place bets); to get drunk (three times less likely); and to view pornography (two times less common). They were also twice as likely to have discussed spiritual matters with other people in the past month and twice as likely to have fasted for religious reasons during the preceding month. While one out of every eight adults who lack a biblical worldview had sexual relations with someone other than their spouse during the prior month, less than one out of every 100 individuals who have such a worldview had done so.

Abercrombie's Christmas Guide is out of the Stores!!!
Great news! In response to your efforts, Abercrombie & Fitch has ordered its 651 stores to stop selling "The Christmas Field Guide," the latest edition of the company's pornographic quarterly magazine.
This is the first success in opposing A&F's orchestrated campaign to promote sexual hedonism to America's youth. Your participation to date has proved critical, demonstrating that by educating and mobilizing citizens to confront the moral and social issues of our day, WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
But don't be fooled into thinking this battle with Abercrombie & Fitch is over. This decision to pull the catalog, while admirable, is only a ploy to try and make the protest over their "lifestyle marketing" go away.
We still need your help to mobilize thousands more for this campaign! Forward this message to your friends and ask them to sign the letter to A&F President, Michael Jeffries, now.

"F" Word and the FCC from AGAPE press:
Complaints to FCC Over Use of 'F-Word' Top 150,000
By Jenni Parker
November 26, 2003
(AgapePress) - The American Family Association has announced that, to date, more than 150,000 of its supporters have sent letters to the Federal Communications Commission, criticizing the agency's recent ruling that the use of the "f-word" on radio and TV was allowable in certain contexts.
The Enforcement Bureau of the FCC reviewed and summarily denied initial viewer and licensee complaints made after the f-word was used by a celebrity during the evening broadcast of the Golden Globe Awards ceremony last January.(See related story)
The complaint letters were sent through AFA's web site, and the volume of e-mail received by the FCC was so great that the messages initially shut down the agency's e-mail system. However, the situation has been corrected, and the FCC is again accepting complaints.
"We were shocked that the FCC would approve the use of such profane language at any time, day or night," says Donald Wildmon, founder and chairman of AFA. He adds, "We are glad that many Representatives and Senators are calling on the FCC to review their recent ruling."
Among those calling on the FCC to rescind its ruling is U.S. Congressman Charles "Chip" Pickering of Mississippi, who recently wrote a letter to FCC Chairman Michael Powell, calling on the federal agency to reverse its ruling. Pickering wrote that he is "outraged and extremely disappointed with this latest salvo in a long string of decisions by the FCC that establish a deeply disturbing precedent regarding the use of universally-recognized vulgar expletives on our nation's airwaves."
The Congressman is calling on the FCC to "diligently enforce" the statues the U.S. legislature has set forth regarding profanity, obscenity, and indecency in public broadcasting. Meanwhile, AFA is continuing to urge concerned individuals to take action and let the federal commission know how the public feels about its ruling.

FCC approves use of "F" word on TV and radio
FCC APPROVES USE OF THE "F" WORD ON TV AND RADIO!
IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED NOW!
Dear Lyle,
The Federal Communications Commission has approved the use of the "F" word for use on any TV show or radio program, ANYTIME DAY OR NIGHT!
The FCC said the word can be used whenever desired except in sexual situations! That means that real soon you will be watching a sit-com on TV, or news, or any drama or movie-ANY PROGRAM-and it's ok! Hollywood is rejoicing!
Soon, when you are driving your kids to school you will be listening to a song which makes extensive use of the word. Shock jocks such as Howard Stern are now free to use any language, no matter how vile and repugnant, on their radio shows. And use it they will. No longer will movies shown on TV have to be edited because of language.
WE MUST ACT NOW TO STOP THIS!
Send your letter to your Congressman, Senators and members of the FCC. Let them know that you want this stopped-NOW! Please send you letter now. And please forward this letter to your email list asking them to get involved. If it isn’t stopped now, in a few months verbal pornography will rule the airways! Please act today. Help us get 1,000,000 email letters to members of Congress, Senators and FCC Commissioners.
Thanks for getting involved!

How Long can we dishonor God and live in honor?
Having travelled recently to DC, I was powerfully reminded that our nation has often cried out to the God of heaven for help. Everytime this nation has done that, God has heard, responded and established us. Then I looked over at Capitol Hill and was amazed at the dichotomy there. In the Mall are many memorials that recognize God's presence. At the end of the Mall is the the Lincoln Memorial which has etched into its walls two great speeches, which quote the Bible! At the other end of the mall is the Capitol where the Bible is not allowed!
How long will God allow our country to be honored when we, as a country, dishonor and disregard Him?

Did you know?
As you walk up the steps to the Capitol Building which houses the Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row of the world's law givers and each one is facing one in the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal view - it is Moses
and the Ten Commandments!
As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the two huge oak doors have the Ten Commandments engraved on each lower portion of each door. As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see the wall right above where the Supreme Court judges sit a
display of the Ten Commandments!
There are Bible verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington, D.C.
James Madison, the fourth president, known as "The Father of Our Constitution" made the following statement "We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."
Patrick Henry, that patriot and Founding Father of our country said, "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians ... not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ".
Every session of Congress begins with a prayer by a paid preacher ... whose salary has been paid by the taxpayer since 1777.
Fifty-two of the 55 founders of the Constitution were members of the established orthodox churches in the colonies.
Thomas Jefferson worried about that the Courts would overstep their authority and instead of interpreting the law would begin making law, an oligarchy, the rule of few over many.
The very first Supreme Court Justice, John Jay, said, "Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers."
How then, have we gotten to the point that everything we have done for 200 years in this country is now suddenly wrong and unconstitutional?

Abercrombie & Fitch to your kids: Group sex now!
Read this article on Abercrombie's latest sex tactics. They are at it again. This seems to push all limits!
Article by Kevin McCullough
There is a link on this article to join a petition against Abercrombie and Fitch. I think that if you have any clothing by them, and Marshal Fields for that matter, throw it out, get rid of it, and stop shopping at these establishments. If you put money into their hands you are supporting their cause, you are as guilty as they are if you do not stop supporting them today.

What is really happening in Iraq!
You have to stop an wonder why we are not more successful in Iraq. What happened to the quick recovery from the war. Daily attacks on our soldiers, no end in site, I begin to believe what hear on the TV and radio. Maybe we did get in over our head, but then I realize that I need to seek out information. I must verify what I am being told. I was taught along time ago that if it is too good to be true then it 99% of the time it is. I also learned that if 2+2 does not equal four, I need to find out why. Here are some staggering statistics from www.whitehouse.gov
Saddam has had approximately 40 of his own relatives murdered.
Documented chemical attacks by the regime, from 1983 to 1988, resulted in some 30,000 Iraqi and Iranian deaths.
Human Rights Watch estimates that Saddam's 1987-1988 campaign of terror against the Kurds killed at least 50,000 and possibly as many as 100,000 Kurds. o The Iraqi regime used chemical agents to include mustard gas and nerve agents in attacks against at least 40 Kurdish villages between 1987-1988. The largest was the attack on Halabja which resulted in approximately 5,000 deaths. o 2,000 Kurdish villages were destroyed during the campaign of terror.
According to Human Rights Watch, "senior Arab diplomats told the London-based Arabic daily newspaper al-Hayat in October [1991] that Iraqi leaders were privately acknowledging that 250,000 people were killed during the uprisings, with most of the casualties in the south." Refugees International reports that the "Oppressive government policies have led to the internal displacement of 900,000 Iraqis, primarily Kurds who have fled to the north to escape Saddam Hussein's Arabization campaigns (which involve forcing Kurds to renounce their Kurdish identity or lose their property) and Marsh Arabs, who fled the government's campaign to dry up the southern marshes for agricultural use. More than 200,000 Iraqis continue to live as refugees in Iran."
Over the past five years, 400,000 Iraqi children under the age of five died of malnutrition and disease, preventively, but died because of the nature of the regime under which they are living." (Prime Minister Tony Blair, March 27, 2003) o Under the oil-for-food program, the international community sought to make available to the Iraqi people adequate supplies of food and medicine, but the regime blocked sufficient access for international workers to ensure proper distribution of these supplies. o Since the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom, coalition forces have discovered military warehouses filled with food supplies meant for the Iraqi people that had been diverted by Iraqi military forces.
With that in mind, we have saved several thousand lives since freeing Iraq. Millions are free to go to school, to talk on the streets freely, and yes Worship the God of the Holy Bible. They no longer have to worry about being tossed in prision for such acts. They no longer have to live in terror. What is terrorism? Webster defines it as the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion. Does this not describe Saddam?
Check out this awesome testimony from an Assyrian who returned to Iraq has a human shield before the war started. His name is Ken Joseph and here is a link to his story: I Was Wrong!
Please pray for our country, our leaders and our continued actions in Iraq and around the globe!

I can't not say it enough. Tracts are our number one witnessing resource, not tool, resource. Our number one witnessing tool is the way that we live our lives! So get the tracts out and let them be the first seed that you sow. There are so many people that we come in conact with on a daily basis that I can assure you that one will be read, thought about and may lead to someone's salvation. So here are a few links to get some really good tracts. The best thing is that they are free! And you know that I love FREE!!!
It's great that the one thing that counts in life is free also....SALVATION!!!
Pocket Testament League: This site offers really cool and nicely put together Gospel of John booklets. You can get 50 free per month, and they come in many styles and in two languages (English and Spanish).
Fellowship Tract League: We gave out a lot of these at The Last Fling. They are nicely put together, color paper tracts. You are limited to order only 12 different styles per order, but you can order several hundred at a time.

Marriage under attack!
Well they are at it again, those who do not understand what marriage is all about. First it is the homosexuals, now it's a feminist, Laura Kipnis. Apparently 30 years ago she fought against marriage arguing that it oppressed women. Now that this society views women as equal, not different, and divorce is still on the rise, she is chalking it up to marriage being oppressive and constraining to both the husband and the wife. She also makes the argument that we are not meant to be monogamous. So the above reasons are why marriages are not successful. I disagree, as most of you. Marriage without God is an empty marriage. If you do not love your "neighbor" as yourself, then she is right. Two selfish people will make a difficult marriage. It really only takes one saved partner.
Here is a link to the article that was written about Laura and her new book.

The battle of Worldly influence and the battle of the flesh
Last nights MTV awards lived up to worldly standards of fleshly motivations and temptations. Here are the first few lines from USA Today this morning.
"Madonna, Spears, Aguilera shock at MTV Awards
NEW YORK — It was only fitting that MTV's Video Music Awards should celebrate its 20th anniversary with a kiss — and that the kiss should be a suggestive smooch shared by Madonna and Britney Spears, as Christina Aguilera stood by leering.
The performance offered a poignant reminder of MTV's role in defining a youth culture that has become something of a tease — winking at convention without offering any fresh alternatives...
...As usual, the show featured a number of cleavage-exposing outfits (notorious nice girls Beyoncé and Jessica Simpson were representing front and center), winners thanking God, and mismatched presenters."
